119 patients with knee and hip osteoarthritis were randomized to receive either an advice booklet on managing osteoarthritis through exercise, called "The Hip & Knee Book: Having you cope with the osteoarthritis", or receive an information booklet on osteoarthritis, to measure the efficacy of the advice booklet on motivating patients to exercise.
