Synopsis
40 patients (51 hips) diagnosed with stage I or II osteonecrosis were randomized to autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell instillation following core decompression or core decompression alone. Results at 12 months indicated superior Harris Hip scores for the intervention group; however, the difference was not maintained at 24 months.
