Synopsis

15 randomized controlled trials (988 patients) comparing ultrasound-guided acupotomy against a control were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. Outcomes of interest included clinical effectiveness, pain on a Visual Analog Scale, Quinnell grade, and the incidence of recurrence and complications. All outcomes favored the ultrasound-guided acupotomy group compared to the control.
