Sixty patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy (MCSM) were randomized to receive either anterior cervical discectomy and hybrid fusion with short-segment plate and self-locking stand-alone cages (n=30) or traditional anterior cervical discectomy and fusion with a long-segment plate (n=30).
