Synopsis
Four randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis comparing outcomes following augmented and nonaugment Achilles tendon repair following rupture. Pooled analyses on patient satisfaction, rerupture rate, and infection rate all demonstrated no statistically significant differences between augmented Achilles tendon repair and nonaugmented Achilles tendon repair.
