Palamed G compared with Palacos R with gentamicin in Charnley total hip replacement
J Bone Joint Surg Br. 2006 Sep;88(9):1143-8.57 patients with 60 hips requiring total hip replacement were randomized to receive cemented Charnley total hip replacements with either Palamed G or Palacos R cements with gentamicin. Throughout the course of the 2 year study period, micromovement of the cemented femoral component and clinical outcomes were measured. By the end of the study it was found that both Palamed G and Palacos R with gentamicin are equally effective bone cements as no significant difference in mean subsidence, mean internal rotation, and Harris hip score was found.
