Synopsis

This meta-analysis included 11 randomized trials that investigated the effectiveness of intravenous tranexamic acid (TXA) in blood loss reduction during spinal surgery in comparison to a placebo or no treatment group. A total of 644 patients were included from the 11 studies. Pooling of the data found that TXA reduced intraoperative, postoperative, and total blood loss compared to control groups. ...
