Synopsis
142 patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA), scheduled for 159 primary total knee replacements (TKR), were randomized to undergo simultaneous patellar resurfacing or no resurfacing at the time of TKR. At a mean of 4 year follow up, the patellar resurfacing did not provide any additional benefit in the functional activity or reduction in the anterior knee pain.
