Synopsis

120 community-dwelling patients over the age of 65 were randomized to receive a single dose of intramuscular vitamin D, intramuscular placebo, oral vitamin D, or oral placebo. The results of the study indicate that both intramuscular and oral vitamin D improve quality of life and functional mobility, and decreases pain among community dwelling seniors.
