Synopsis
76 patients with multiple myeloma (MM) and associated spinal fractures were randomized to receive either a combination treatment of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) with chemotherapy or a treatment of just chemotherapy. Results showed that the use of PVP produced minimal trauma and was able to promote long-term analgesic effect along with improved spinal stability.
