Synopsis
16 hands of 13 patients with idiopathic primary carpal tunnel syndrome were randomized to be managed with either endoscopic or open carpal tunnel release. Endoscopic release and open carpal tunnel release were found to produce comparable perioperative longitudinal and volar movements of the median nerve.
