250 patients (>25 yr) with chronic LBP(>6 month) and degenerative lumbar osteoarthritis(OA) were randomized to be administered 1500mg per day of glucosamine or placebo for 6 months duration. At 12 month time point, glucosamine sulfate was deemed ineffective in treating chronic LBP and other symptoms of degenerative lumbar osteoarthritis.
