Synopsis
140 patients scheduled for arthroscopic rotator cuff repair were randomized to preoperative opioid education or no additional preoperative opioid education. Patients were assessed over the first 3 months after surgery for the number of narcotic pills consumed and for pain scores on a visual analog scale.
