Synopsis
50 patients scheduled for arthrodesis of the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd tarsometatarsal joint were randomized to surgery completed with either a plate-screw construct or a single, trans-articular screw. Patients were assessed for outcomes over a mean 42- to 46-month follow-up, including pain, function, bone healing, and wound complications.
