original publication.
This study has been identified as potentially high impact.
OE's AI-driven High Impact metric estimates the influence a paper is likely to have by integrating signals from both the journal in which it is published and the scientific content of the article itself.
Developed using state-of-the-art natural language processing, the OE High Impact model more accurately predicts a study's future citation performance than journal impact factor alone.
This enables earlier recognition of clinically meaningful research and helps readers focus on articles most likely to shape future practice.
Major Bleeding and Case Fatality Rate with the Direct Oral Anticoagulants in Orthopedic Surgery: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Semin Thromb Hemost. 2016 Feb;42(1):42-5425 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the safety of direct oral anticoagulants and low molecular weight heparin/fondaparinux in antithrombotic prophylaxis during total hip replacement, total knee replacement, and hip fracture surgery were included. This meta-analysis was conducted in order to determine if direct oral anticoagulants, in addition to the more convenient oral administration and potentially increased compliance rates, are able to provide an enhanced safety profile. The findings of this systematic review and meta-analysis demonstrated comparable risks of major, fatal, and intracranial bleeding, and comparable case-fatality rate between groups.
