Efficacy of IAHA vs. PRP for Knee OA

OrthoEvidence identified published randomized controlled trials that assessed the use of intra-articular hyaluronic acid in the treatment of osteoarthritis through a search of electronic databases, reviewing the reference list of included publications, and suggestions from experts in the field.
The inclusion criteria for published trials were: 1) patients allocated to interventions in a randomized fashion, 2) trials provided a comparison of intra-articular hyaluronic acid to platelet-rich plasma, and 3) trials evaluated pain, function, or stiffness outcomes.
Data relating to clinical outcomes, statistical significance of findings, and product characteristics were extracted from each of the included randomized controlled trials and summarized in the graphics below.
